Wow, it’s actually happened! I’m finally blogging!
This really has been a long time coming. I’ve wanted to start a blog ever since I was around the age of 16 but I’ve never really known what my niche was going to be.
I actually started to create a beauty blog when I was 17, however my mental health at the time really put a stop to that. Now here I am, at the age of 23 starting again, but this time with my head (kind of) screwed on.
I have always had a real passion for fashion and beauty, specifically makeup. I couldn’t even tell you how old I was when I started watching makeup tutorials and fashion hauls on YouTube!
I’ve always said to myself that one day that would be me, and now that day has finally come!
I’m at the stage of my life now where I’ve discovered my personal style and what works for me. I’m also learning a lot more about myself and my mental health as I’m growing as a woman.
Living with anxiety & depression
I had an official diagnosis at the age of 16, just as I was finishing secondary school. I was referred for counselling as I become almost self destructive and my relationship with my mum became tough.
It worked for me to begin with, however the one thing I believed that I need to do was simply grow up. As I did start to develop, I looked back on my behaviours and saw how much I took advantage of my mum’s love for me. Now, I couldn’t be more grateful for her. If it wasn’t for her continuous love and support then I really don’t think I would be here today.
I have definitely hit some (rather large) bumps along the road, which hopefully I will touch on in the future, but they have all shaped me into being the woman I am today.
What to expect from this space
My blog, or my little getaway as I like to call it, will be a place for me to share my journey through fashion and beauty, but to also share my experience with mental health to encourage others that they are not alone.
My style really has changed over the years but I’ve finally come to grow comfortable with who I am and I would love to share my outfit ideas and inspirations with other like minded angels.
If you do have any requests for any future posts, please do not hesitate to drop your ideas in the comments.
Lots of love, Alice xoxo
